Chopin's name immediately comes to mind when we think of the piano, but also of Paris during the Romantic era. His affair with George Sand, his musical rivalry with Liszt staged by the piano makers Pleyel and Erard, his premature death from tuberculosis at the age of 39, have forged his legend.
