Formed in London in the early 1990s, the group's core members Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba drew inspiration from soul, funk and especially hip hop. Unfortunately, at that time (only), they didn't know any rappers. They made up for this missing element by adopting an additional ingredient to fill the void; a widescreen cinematic sensation born of an overactive imagination. The spy thrillers, westerns and cop shows of the duo's 1970s youth would be plundered as inspiration and translated onto vinyl in what would soon become their trademark.
