Three Lives, Three Languages - A Spotlight Special

Breton was the language of the old people. This month's broadcast is a 'Spotlight on Brittany special. This is our entry for the Radio Documentary category of the 2013 Celtic Media Festival. Entitled: 'Three Lives, Three Languages: The Story of Madeleine's Mother's Tongue, the programme focuses on Madeleine who was brought up in a bi-lingual world, but both the economic & political situation at that time ensured that she spoke only French. In retirement she has returned to Brittany and re-discovers the language of her mother.
