For our June programme we are spending a day Out and About in Lorient, so join us while we visit the Tourist Office, find out more about the WW2 Submarine base and go over to Port Louis to visit the French East India Museum in the Citadel there. Following intensive bombing by the Allies in 1943, 75% of Lorient was destroyed. After the end of the war the city was rebuilt, but much is still underway to improve the attractiveness of this important port and there's certainly plenty of activities, throughout the year, to attract visitors.
